He questioned, "How can a country grow and thrive without a president leading it according to what its constitution dictates? How can a country build its weak army?"

 


During the Munich Security Conference in Germany, Prime Minister Najib Mikati met with the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to discuss the situation in Lebanon and the work of the Quintet Committee to help resolve the crisis of the presidential vacancy.

 

The Prime Minister also met with his Iraqi counterpart, Mohammed Shia' Al Sudani, and renewed gratitude to Iraq for its "constant support to Lebanon."

 


Regionally, Israeli shelling continues on the Gaza Strip for the 135th day amidst a catastrophic humanitarian situation, while incursions and arrests persist in the West Bank governorates.

 


Furthermore, the Israeli Electricity Company announced tonight the power outage in several locations across Israel, stating, "120,000 Israelis in cities and major towns nationwide are affected by the outage due to a malfunction in power generation stations... the causes of this outage are under investigation."

 


In another development, Israeli President Isaac Herzog today called on Saudi Arabia to normalize relations with his country, stating that it would represent "a victory over Hamas." Defense Minister Benny Gantz also said in an Israeli Security Cabinet meeting, "What happened in Beit Hanoun in the Gaza Strip, which no longer exists after the war, can happen anywhere in Lebanon."

 


Hamas expressed gratitude for Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's remarks describing what Gaza is enduring as a "Nazi holocaust." In this context, Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid decided to summon the Brazilian ambassador to Tel Aviv "for reprimand" tomorrow.

 


On his X platform account, Israeli National Security Minister extremist Itamar Ben Gvir stated, "Palestinian Authority residents must be prevented from attending prayers in the Jerusalem sanctuary during Ramadan," a decision endorsed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

 


Egyptian General Authority for Information Diaa Rashwan announced that Cairo has submitted a memorandum to the International Court of Justice regarding Israeli practices in the Palestinian territories.

 


Regarding the Yemeni file, the US Central Command announced that it conducted 5 defensive strikes against anti-ship cruise missiles and drones in Yemen. Additionally, the Yemeni embassy in Egypt reported finding Hassan bin Jalal Al-Obeidi, director of the Military Manufacturing Department at the Yemeni Ministry of Defense, murdered in his Cairo apartment.

 


Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi affirmed that "Israeli occupation is the main reason for what is happening in the Palestinian territories and the Gaza Strip."

 


Internationally, the African Methodist Episcopal Church, which has 3 million members in the United States, called on the White House to "halt military aid to Israel and prevent the genocide it is committing in Gaza."

 


Washington also threatened to thwart a new resolution proposed by Algeria at the UN Security Council calling for "an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian reasons" in the Gaza Strip.

 


Speaking to his supporters in Michigan, former US President Donald Trump stated that every bomb dropped on Yemen costs the United States a million dollars.

 


Meanwhile, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on Israel to adhere to international law amid escalating concerns about its planned ground operation in Rafah, south of the Gaza Strip.

 

On the conflict line in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin affirmed that Moscow is ready to end it peacefully and open to dialogue for peace, but there is no evidence that Kyiv and the West desire that.

 

A warning came from the EU's Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell, who warned that "the West Bank is witnessing a boiling point, and we may be on the brink of a bigger explosion."
